kit of parts

an introspective exploration through dance using movement to progress, reflect, and find oneself.

with the single word of “contemplation” as inspiration and a kit of parts of architectural elements as programmatic requirements, this pavilion invites users to interact with the space as a means of self discovery. the pavilion tells the story of enlightenment using unique, choreographed movements in conjunction with light and architectural space.

beginning in a dark, narrow corridor representing a closed-off mindset, the user faces a series of obstacles such as reflecting pools and a monolith, with the changing of levels forcing one to move in creative ways. as you dance through the pavilion you will face fewer boundaries until you finally reach a light, open area, free to express yourself.
